West End Neighborhood Houseis my employer. Call them at (302) 658-4171 and tell the receptionist you want to make an appointment for the Food Closet. This is by appointment only. No walk-ins are taken.
If they ask how you learned about the food closet, you can say “Manoj Philip of Stand By Me”.
The director of the food closet will set an appointment with you, tell you what to bring, etc.
Your appointment will be at West End Neighborhood House. You’ll receive a few days’ worth of various food items.
Due to the tough economic times we’re in, you’re limited to one (1) round of food per month from the food closet.

Income Chart: When reviewing the Food Bank of Delaware’s website, you might see an Income Chart. If your household income is above the limit for your household/family size, please don’t worry. A Senior Director at the Food Bank of Delaware emailed this to me: “A large portion of the product we distribute comes from USDA. In order to receive that product, USDA requires us to ask clients to self-certify that they meet income limits. The chart below is based upon gross income. Clients are not required to produce any verification of their income just to state whether or not they are above or below the limits. If a client does not fall under the income limit, we provide them with non-USDA product in order to ensure they still get the food they need. We never want anyone to get turned away regardless of circumstances.”
